Project Saturn
Private
Office complex / campus in Clydebank, beside Queens Quay
Project Saturn represents a significant opportunity for regeneration at Clydebank’s East Basin, delivering a mixed-use development that will transform the waterfront into a vibrant community space. This ambitious project includes a diverse array of office accommodation, local retail, leisure facilities, and an engaging selection of bars, restaurants, and cafés, all designed to foster a thriving environment for both residents and visitors.
While the site is rich in historical and cultural heritage, our focus is firmly on the future, aiming to maximise the site’s potential for investment and revitalisation. We are enthusiastic about contributing to this transformational development, recognising its potential to create a campus that promotes collaboration, innovation, and a sense of community. The design approach therefore prioritises a balance between tranquillity and stimulation, ensuring an environment where individuals can concentrate on their work while also enjoying the pleasure of shared spaces.
The proposed layout reinforces the overall ambitions of the masterplan, featuring activated street frontages that invite interaction, and a central landscaped court that integrates nature into the urban fabric - Our vision is then articulated through three distinct building typologies: The Town Hall, The Tower, and The Terrace.
The Town Hall is organised around a central atrium, acting as a social hub that accommodates gatherings, conferences, and informal meetings. This dynamic space spills out onto a landscaped garden, fostering connections with nature. The Tower serves as a prominent marker within the masterplan, offering flexible office spaces that capitalise on stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, The Terrace provides a series of interconnected spaces designed to encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange among tenants.
Architecturally, the design respects the site’s industrial legacy while embracing contemporary, sustainable building practices. The façades feature a generous amount of glazing to maximise natural light, balanced by carefully considered shading strategies to mitigate solar gain. This thoughtful approach aims to create a sophisticated civic architecture that is responsive to the local context and enhances the overall experience for its users.
Project Saturn is not just about making buildings; it is about creating a framework that allows businesses and individuals to thrive, adapt, and evolve. This development aspires to be a catalyst for change, ensuring that the East Basin emerges as a vital and attractive destination for the community it serves.
